Gate Judges
The gate judge role is undergoing changes and will be replaced by video controllers. However, there are still some tasks related to gate marking and control that need to be handled to ensure all gates are correctly set up and procedures followed before and during the races. Gate judges also assist on the slope.
Tasks:
- Marking and numbering gates on the course, ensuring readiness before jury inspection.
- Installing flags on gates where necessary before jury inspection.
- Distributing necessary materials (gate judge forms, pencils, and start lists) to the officials assigned to gate control in good time before the start.
- Ensuring all gate judges have received proper training and are familiar with the instructions.
- Collecting gate judge reports after each run and delivering them to the jury.
- Ensuring gate judges do not leave the race area until any protests have been resolved.
